The lists of speakers for the 13th session of the UPR Working Group will open on Thursday the 10th at 10am in room E3058 of the Palais des Nations.
Following the review of the Human Rights Council (HRC) and resolution A/HRC/RES/16/21, the modalities for the lists of speakers have changed.
The lists are now open for four days and do not work on a first come first serve basis any more. All States are guaranteed a slot on the list.
For the 13th session of the UPR Working Group, the lists for the 14 reviews will open on Thursday 10 May and close on Tuesday the 15th. Each list will then be arranged in English alphabetical order. On Wednesday the 16th, the HRC Bureau will draw the letter where each list will start. All enrolled States will be given the floor and the 140 minutes at hand will be divided by the number of speakers.
States will be able to swap place. Those wishing to withdraw from a list will have to inform the Secretariat at least 30 minutes before the beginning of the review to allow the latter to recalculate the speaking time provided to each delegation.
