9th edition of the Padova Model UPR: applications are open!

The 9th edition of the Padova Model UPR will be held from 16 to 20 November 2026 in Padova!

Since 2018, the Human Rights Centre “Antonio Papisca” of the Università degli Studi di Padova, together with the Department of Political Science, Law and International Studies and the MA Degree Programme in Human Rights and Multi-level Governance, has organised the Padova Model UPR, an academic simulation of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR).

The simulation provides students from around the world with an opportunity to learn more about the UPR mechanism and engage with human rights issues by assuming the roles of UN Member States, NGOs and National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs).

Applications are still open for EU citizens and students enrolled in EU universities until 2 October 2026. The deadline for non-EU citizens and students enrolled in non-EU universities was 4 September 2026.
