For Luka, for every child

“My name is Luka…” sang Suzanne Vega in 1986 — a song that tells the story of a child experiencing domestic violence.

Some, such as children with disabilities, remain even more exposed. To mark World Children’s Day on November 20, the Tribune de Genève published an opinion piece by Nicoletta Zappile, Deputy Director of UPR Info, which highlights recent progress in Switzerland — including the new ban on corporal punishment — and provides insights into how international mechanisms like the UPR can serve as concrete tools to help protect and advance the rights of every child.
