Who is this webinar for?

Civil society organisations, national human rights institutions (NHRIs), and other associations are encouraged to submit reports on the human rights situation in their country. After submission, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) compiles civil society contributions into a single summary report that informs the UPR review.

By submitting an Other Stakeholders’ Report, civil society actors can:

  • Provide first-hand information and analysis on the human rights situation in the State under Review

  • Propose specific, action-oriented recommendations to UN Member States

This webinar is open to all the civil society actors, in particular to human rights defenders, CSOs and national human rights institutions from the States under Review during the 53rd UPR Working Group: Suriname, Greece, Samoa, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Hungary, Papua New Guinea, Tajikistan, United Republic of Tanzania, Antigua and Barbuda, Eswatini, Trinidad and Tobago, Thailand, Ireland, United States of America

For the review of the United States of America, please note that only organisations that contributed to the 2025 UPR reports will be invited to submit an update as part of the continuation of that exercise.

No new call for contributions will be opened. The UPR Secretariat of OHCHR will not admit additional organisations. Updates provided by eligible organisations will be uploaded as appropriate.

The webinar will integrate the new guidelines published by the OHCHR, which reiterates the importance of focusing on the implementation of accepted recommendations and developments of the human rights situation in a State under review. Civil society is encouraged to include information on the follow-up of the previous review in their written contributions.
