Pre-sessions 36 Postponed to October 2020

The Bureau of the Human Rights Council has postponed the 36th session of the Universal Periodic Review Working Group until November 2020. Click here for more information on the scheduling change and its impact on the UPR calendar.

In light of this change, UPR Info's Pre-sessions previously scheduled from 31 March - 3 April 2020 will now take place in early Otober 2020. Participants who were selected to speak at these Pre-sessions retain their position as panellists. More information on the dates of the event and programme will be available on our website in summer 2020.

In the interim, UPR Info will continue to support members of civil society and encourage them to continue their advocacy activities. The COVID-19 pandemic will impact the human rights landscape and exacerbate exisiting human rights violations, making support for civil society particularly important during this unstable time. UPR Info will continue to remain at the disposal of CSOs and partner organizations for technical advice and we will notify partners advocacy and/or training opportunities over the coming months. In addition, we will post all statements provided by panellists to our webiste strating on 31 March in order to provide Recommending States with an update on the human rights situation on the countries that will be reviewed as well as to sustain the UPR momentum.
