Who we are

UPR Info is a non-profit non-governmental organisation (NGO) based in Geneva (Switzerland), aiming to promote human rights through the Universal Periodic Review (UPR).

UPR Info raises awareness and provides capacity-building tools to all UPR stakeholders, including UN Member States, CSOs, and NHRIs.

As the first NGO fully dedicated to the mechanism, its expertise is widely recognised by stakeholders, including the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).

The beneficiaries of these efforts range from Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs), parliamentarians, government officials, the judiciary, students, and media representatives. The UPR Info In-Country Programme supports local ownership and a human rights-based approach. It has been designed to adapt to the needs of national stakeholders and to the context of the target country.
