Register now for francophone NHRIs training and become a UPR expert

UPR Info organises practical training for the professional development of staff of NHRIs in francophone countries.

The programme aims to strengthen the capacity of NHRIs to engage effectively with the Universal Periodic Review (UPR).   

Whether your country is about to be reviewed or has recently undergone the UPR process, this training will provide valuable insights for engagement. NHRIs will be:

  • Enhancing their understanding of the UPR

  • Identifying concrete opportunities for effective engagement in the UPR

  • Expanding their knowledge on how to cooperate with other national stakeholders to promote and protect human rights

  • Exchanging experiences and best practices with their peer participating in the training

UPR Info e-Hub

Delivered through UPR Info’s e-Hub, an interactive e-learning platform focused on the UPR, the training offers live sessions with UPR Info’s facilitators and self-paced resources with text and video testimonies from experts. The platform includes a Community of Practice, a safe space to exchange good practices, challenges, and advice among peers.

The e-Hub is designed to facilitate your UPR experience and enhance your capacity for effective engagement.

Methodology

Each course lasts approximately 3.5 hours, during which participants have the flexibility to engage with the content at their own pace and discretion within the pre-established timeframe. Additionally, there are at least two interactive sessions with a UPR Info facilitator at the beginning and end of each module, each lasting 45 minutes. The dates of these online meetings will be communicated in advance.

Only participants who have completed the course will receive a certificate of completion.

Programme:

This training will be in French only.

The first Module, " UPR Basics," will be available from Monday, 20 May to Friday, 24 May 2024. 
The second Module, "The Role of NHRIs in the UPR" will be available from Monday, 27  May to Friday, 31 May 2024. 

The details of meetings with the facilitator, both at the beginning and end of the Modules, will be communicated in advance. Apart from these scheduled meetings, you can study the course content at your own pace, according to your schedule and availability within the specified timeframe.
