The many parties involved in the UPR can be divided into three categories: UN Member States, UN agencies and other stakeholders. 
 

The OHCHR recognises "civil society actors, national human rights institutions, human rights defenders, academic institutions, ombudspersons and regional organisations" as "other stakeholders". The OHCHR will compile their submissions to prepare the third document for the review, "The Summary of Information from other stakeholders".
 

Over time and in practice, it has been possible to involve other parties with a role in the Mechanism through their contributions. 

This section will devote a specific space to each of them.
