Context
Freedom of expression and access to information are fundamental rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Together with the safety of journalists, these rights are promoted in SDG 16 of the 2030 Agenda and are critical to fostering peaceful and inclusive societies.
We are pleased to invite you to “The Role of Media in the Human Rights Council”, a side event for the 48th Session of the Human Rights Council, taking place on 30 September 2021, from 11:00 to 12:00.
Join us for an exciting dialogue among states, international organizations and civil society panellists on lessons learned and the way forward when it comes to the engagement of media professionals with the HRC and its mechanisms, including the Universal Periodic Review.
This event is co-organized by the Multilateral Dialogue Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Geneva.
