Press Release : Cancellation of UPR Pre-Session 36

UPR PRE-SESSION 36 HOSTED BY UPR INFO

In view of the public health situation involving COVID-19, UPR Info has decided to cancel the Pre-sessions previously scheduled to take place in Geneva from 31 March – 3 April 2020. This decision was taken after careful consideration and with the health and security of all attendees in mind.

Please note that the training session on 30 March and the Human Rights Café on 1 April are also cancelled.

UPR Info remains committed to providing an international advocacy platform for national voices to offer first-hand information of the human rights situation on the ground. To this end, statements prepared by speakers will be available on the UPR Info website as of 31 March 2020.

The Pre-sessions Team are currently exploring alternative opportunities to provide civil society with technical support in advance of the 36th UPR Working Group Session and we will keep you informed of future activities in this regard.

We sincerely regret that we are no longer able to host the Pre-sessions as scheduled. We thank you for your understanding and continuous support.

For urgent requests related to the Pre-sessions, please contact presessions@upr-info.org. Please note that the UPR Info team will be working remotely from 16-20 March, inclusive.
