Webinar

The deadline for stakeholder submissions for the 48th UPR Working Group session is on July 16th, 2024.

UPR Info, organises three free webinars (in English, French and Spanish) to provide civil society representatives with key information and guidance to submit "Other Stakeholders Reports" to the Universal Periodic Review (UPR).

These online sessions aim to share technical information, online tools, and good practices in the drafting and dissemination process of UPR reports.

Webinar in French: 10 June at 13:30

Webinar in English:  11 June at 13:30

Webinar in Spanish: 13 June at 15:30

The English webinar is organized with the participation of SOS Children’s Villages, the French one with Just Future, and the Spanish webinar with Corporación Miles.

Civil society organisations, NHRI and other associations are encouraged to submit a report on the human rights situation of their country. Upon submission, the OHCHR will compile all of the civil society reports into a single summary report.

By submitting an "Other Stakeholders Report," civil society can

  • Provide first-hand information and an analytical overview of the human rights situation in the State under Review

  • Suggest specific and action-oriented recommendations to States

This webinar is open to all the stakeholders, in particular to human rights defenders, CSOs and national human rights institutions from the States under Review during the 48th UPR Working Group (Italy, El Salvador, Gambia, Bolivia, Fiji, San Marino, Kazakhstan, Angola, Iran (Islamic Republic of), Madagascar, Iraq, Slovenia, Egypt, Bosnia and Herzegovina).

The webinar will integrate the new guidelines published by the OHCHR, which reiterates the importance of focusing on the implementation of accepted recommendations and developments of the human rights situation in a State under review. Civil society is encouraged to include information on the follow-up of the previous review in their written contributions.
